Measured flat, S is a 70cm waist and 94cm hip, M is 74cm and 98cm, and L is 78cm and 102cm. Length runs 26 to 29cm depending on size, which is short. Compare those numbers against a skirt you already own rather than guessing, since the denim does not stretch.
How to wear it
The shorts underneath mean you can wear it with tall boots or flat sneakers without thinking about coverage. An oversized sweatshirt balances how short it is.
